Processor

One of the most powerful from amongst the AMD Ryzen series, the Ryzen 7 6800H is an octa-core processor. It has a clock rate of 3.2 GHz and with Max Turbo Boost, it can go up to 4.7 GHz. Its 8-core and 16-threads configuration enables it to handle 4 MB of L2 cache and 16 MB of L3 cache. This powerful processor will let you ace the AAA titles like a boss.

RAM and Storage

Its RAM configuration is expandable with two SO-DIMM RAM slots supporting DDR4 and DDR5 RAM. Each of the memory slots comes with 8 GB DDR5-4800 built-in RAM, giving a total of 16 GB. Since it is dual-channel supportive, it can be expanded up to 64 GB. RAM is where the CPU stores information, thus it is important. More the RAM, the faster it will process all the information, and the faster your machine will run.

Graphics

Display

The primary display measures 16 inches in size and has a Wide Ultra Extended Graphics Array (WUXGA) resolution of 1920 x 1200p. It has a refresh rate of 165 Hz and a response time of 3 ms which ensures a tear-free screenplay. This is a premium display that has Pantone® validated colours and Dolby Vision® HDR certified, exhibiting deeper blacks and brighter whites than the conventional LED displays. This allows for vivid colours and a wider colour coverage of DCI-P3 100%. Furthermore, it has an aspect ratio of 16:10 and a micro-edge design that delivers a large and more immersive screen area.

The secondary display is touchscreen, measuring 14-inch in size, having a resolution of 1920 x 550, IPS-level. It supports Stylus and the company likes to call it ScreenPad Plus.

ROG Intelligent Cooling

To keep the system cool it uses AAS Plus 2.0 which is an intelligent fan solution that is more effective and less noisy. It takes in cool air from the outside thanks to its 28.5mm wide intake. To remove heat from around the heat-generating units like the CPU, it uses Thermal Grizzly’s Conductonaut Extreme which is a liquid metal thermal paste. It has 17X better heat conductivity than regular thermal pastes, thus giving a cooler CPU.

Per-Key RGB Backlit Keyboard with NumberPad

Zephyrus Duo 16 utilizes a side trackpad which doubles as a NumberPad and the rest of it is the keyboard deck. This, by the way, is great utilization of space. The keyboard has a 1.7mm key travel which makes it easy to type and work on. In addition, per-key RGB and Aura Sync makes it the right keyboard for gaming.

Build and Design

It has a matte black chassis showcasing great craftsmanship and durability. The hinges are strong enough to hold the lid in place while still letting you open it with one hand. It has a maximum angle of 130-degrees. Upon opening the lid, you will come across two displays, a primary display and a secondary touchscreen display. The secondary display is slightly raised, leaving some space in between where Asus has placed vents that allow airflow inside the chassis.

In terms of portability and weight, it is a 16-inches large laptop that weighs 2.50 kg (5.51 pounds) and ranks decently among gaming machines. Furthermore, it has plenty of ports to keep you connected, for power delivery, data transfer, external display, and video output.
